15 thoughts from a devastating night as a Jays fan

It's been a long time since I've blogged on here.
I'm honestly not sure why. I've tried to make it a priority but as is the case in life, things sometimes get in the way of a good pastime.
I'm still not sure what to make of this website and whether it's going to be a long-term investment for me. I've contemplated just sticking to the X account and giving up this site altogether but heck, it's my pet project so I'm sticking with it for the time being and we'll see where this thing goes.
With that being said, here's a few thoughts of mine after one of the worst nights of my life.
1 - Daulton Varsho isn't the reason the Jays lost the World Series but he had a ROUGH couple nights at the plate in Games 6 and 7. A combined 0-for-9 with 13 left on base.
2 - Gutted for Ernie Clement. Glue guy in the clubhouse who wore his emotions on his sleeve. Seeing tears in his eyes postgame was crushing.
3 - Agreed with Nick Kypreos' recent take on Real Kyper and Bourne in that the better team didn't lose. They won. The defending champs refused to die and for that, I tip my cap.
4 - So impressed with Chris Bassitt and his ability to come up big in a high leverage role out of the pen. I wasn't expecting that and I'm sure not one Jays fan thought it was a possibility either when the playoffs started.
5 - What else can be said about Vlad other than he absolutely raked in the postseason and showed unbelievable LEADERSHIP that makes you happy as a Jays fan he's here for the long haul.
6 - Who knew Andres Gimenez would basically hit .500 with runners in scoring position all playoffs?
7 - I gained a lot of respect for John Schneider after this and believe he's the right man for the job. I suspect he should have some significant leeway now - even if they have a massive hangover next year.
8 - Gotta feel for Don Mattingly. Finally gets to a World Series, and to lose like that. Man alive.
9 - Dear Jays management: Give Bo whatever he wants. He has to stay.
10 - In my opinion, the day the Jays signed Vlad long-term was the turning point for the organization.
11 - Max Scherzer's presence alone made a huge impact on the clubhouse. He's got to be a manager at some point. Don't you think?
12 - To Johnny and Avery from Gate 14 Podcast - you guys rock. And you made this ride feel that much more special as a Jays fan.
13 - I know Jose Berrios wasn't on the playoff rosters, but I didn't see him once during the postseason. You gotta wonder if maybe a fresh start is in the cards for him.
14 - You can take away a World Series title, but you can't take away the Game 7 HR from George Springer in the ALCS. Legendary.
15 - It's been more than 48 hours and I'm still crushed.
Oh and one more thing: screw off Yamamoto.
